Guidelines
Explore the archiveQueer Domains is a shared archive of queer memories, held together by care. These guidelines are written with the people who contribute to it, and they will keep changing with the community.
Care
Share the objects, spaces and experiences that matter to you, and think about the people connected to them. If a place or a person could be put at risk by being shown, leave it out or ask us first.
Consent
Only share what you have the right to share. Everyone recognisable in a scan, and whoever a private space belongs to, should have said yes. Keep locations broad: a city or area, never an address.
Credit
You choose how you’re named: your name, a chosen name, or anonymous. We never show your email.
What doesn’t belong here
- Anything that shows people who haven’t agreed to be shown
- Hate, harassment, or anything that puts someone at risk
- Private details, such as addresses or documents
- Anything that could reveal who someone is, when they didn’t choose to be seen
- Adverts or spam
- Anything illegal
How sharing works
Every Domain gets a little once-over from one of us before it joins the constellation. No judging, promise! We just want everyone in it to feel safe, cared for and seen the way they choose. If anything needs a tweak, we’ll slide into your inbox ✦
If something feels wrong
If a Domain worries you, or it’s yours and you’d like it taken down, write to archive@queerdomains.org. Your own Domain comes down whenever you ask, no questions asked. We reply within 14 days, and sooner if someone’s safety is involved.
These guidelines were shaped with members of the community. Tell us what you’d change.
